Great post. The Phillies were missing starting pitcher Curt Simmons due to a National Guard call-up. That may have been the reason Konstanty got a start.
Curt is still going strong; Robin Roberts is still with us. Most of the others are gone.
The Phils need to win tonite; if they don't, they are in trouble.

Thanks for a great video of 1950 worldseries Now we are going a way way back and the Phillies had a young pitcher by the name f Steve Ridsik He was/is the same age as myself NOW liten to this for an old timer we were in the Kindegarten in 1933-34 He ended his career with Washington Senators
