Thanks for very interesting historical footage. The more things change, the more they stay the same. It's clear to see though, that the game was played differently and you can't really compare stats from then to the modern era...though it is fun.

for some reason center field looks very weird but besides that it looks like old wrigely. you should send this to cooperstown to show them

You're checking the wrong schedule. The footage I am referring to shows the Cubs raising their 1929 National League championship pennant, so it has to be Flag Day, 1930. On the scoreboard, you see the Cubs are playing Boston (Braves), the Pirates are hosting the Giants, the Dodgers are in Cincinnati, and the Phillies are in St. Louis playing the Cardinals. In those other games, I am assuming the home team is on the bottom. However, why is "Cubs" ABOVE "Boston if this is Wrigley Field?

May be a leftover from the last regular season game. There was a Boston team, the Braves, in the National League in those days. Nope, 1929 last game for the Braves was at home vs. Boston, their last road game was, oddly enough, at Philadelphia against the Phillies. So, I checked the '29 Cubs schedule, and they finished at home (prob. a rainout make-up) with Pittsburgh. And the Red Sox didn't play at the White Sox later than August that year. Weird. You were sharp to catch that!

Yes, there were consumer film movie cameras way back then. 16mm film was introduced as a consumer format in 1922. The film was very expensive and remained expensive to this very day. As a result, Kodak came up with the idea of slitting the film down the length of the film, thus creating an 8mm format. This happened in 1932. It was over 30 years before the next format, Super8, was introduced. It used smaller sprocket holes, which resulted in a larger image and therefore better quality than 8mm.

Very cool. Didn't know there were consumer film cameras in 29'. In fact, seeing the related videos, I didn't know the Blackhawks were a team in 29' either. lol. These are topically related as it was filmed in the time of another financial clamity. Thx for sharing.

The Flag Day footage is clearly filmed at Wrigley Field, but there's one thing I don't understand. Why is "CUBS" the home team listed ABOVE "BOSTON" on the scoreboard? The home team should be on the bottom.
